I was talking to a friend yesterday and I told her that it feels like our seasons have been slowly shifting back one month and no longer match up with the calendar. Winter now seems to be January through early April. Spring is starts to show itself from mid-April through June. Summer doesn’t appear until [...]

We got home earlier this afternoon and had a great time watching the Super Bowl. Yeah Saints!! I’m not a usual New Orleans Saints fan. It’s that I love to see the underdog win.
I enjoyed many of the Super Bowl commercials. Several of them were hilarious, this one in particular
This Snickers ad made me, well, [...]

It’s been snowing this morning and I was so inspired by its beauty I went outside to take a few photos. We have some tall grass that lines the outside of our deck and the snow that coated it looks so pretty (click images to enlarge):
Isn’t that lovely? On this photo below you can see [...]

A foot of snow fell up north. We haven’t been able to enjoy it because we are currently living downstate. From what I can see on Weather.com and Accuweather.com they’re going to get another 3-6 inches tonight. We don’t have any snow on the ground where we are right now, just a little dusting that’s being violently [...]

It’s time to change to the Up North Christmas theme.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Our went very well. My mom made a wonderful turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, and rolls. I contributed the strawberry jello salad, which I have to say was excellent. I have never been a big jello [...]

I awoke on the second day of Spring, looked out the living room window and saw this:
That was at 7:45am. It’s now 8:30am and still snowing. In fact, it’s coming down even harder and faster. We could have several inches before it’s done.

Our bedroom ceiling was a casualty of our Up North winter. A couple days ago, Thursday actually, I woke up to the sound of dripping. I looked around and saw drops falling from a ceiling tile along the outside wall of my bedroom onto the bed side table. Argh!! I jumped out of bed and [...]

I haven’t been gone that long, only since Saturday, but it feels like it’s been a week. We were at my parents’ house for an extended family Christmas party Saturday night. We left Saturday morning instead of Friday night because of a snow storm that hit us Friday afternoon. Then we had to stay at [...]

We’re having our first snow storm here in northern Michigan. The snow started falling around 10:15 this morning and it’s been falling all day. We’ve accumulated about 4-5 inches so far and we’re expecting more over night. So what do we do with all that snow? Build a snowman of course. When Little Man got [...]
