My parents came up today for Sunday dinner. We played outside where my parents helped my son on his bike. He’s seven years old on the 16th and I’ve got a bug up my butt about the fact that he still hasn’t gone through the rite of passage of learning how to ride a two-wheeler.

After being weekenders at our log cabin on the river, we decided to chuck it all in Toledo and move Up North full time. Now we own Gotts’ Landing Canoe Rental and Trophy Waters Fly Shop near the banks of the beautiful and historic AuSable River. Life Up North is simpler, slower, and a lot dirtier, but we love it.
