I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Our went very well. My mom made a wonderful turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, and rolls. I contributed the strawberry jello salad, which I have to say was excellent. I have never been a big jello enthusiast, but this recipe is particularly good. I found it at the same site I’ve found all my favorite recipes, allrecipes.com.  My other contribution was the baby carrots in dill butter. It was super easy to make but very good.

My dad made a cherry pie and also bought a Friendly’s Peppermint Ice Cream Roll.

Everyone was happy and stuffed by the end of the day.

The following day, Black Friday, we spent the day at Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth and bought several new ornaments. We then spent the weekend up north. Garland Resort had a fun Light up the North light show that we drove through. It was small but nice. I’m assuming the new owners of Garland will expand it every year.

Unfortunately, we haven’t had any snow whatsoever. Steve and I were talking about how last year, we had a good 6 inches of snow on opening day of deer season, November 15th, and it didn’t let up for the rest of winter.  This year, it’s chilly and rainy. Not a snow flake in sight. It’s a real bummer.
