Reaching a New Year’s resolution
I watched an interesting interview on Fox News. Patty Ann Brown spoke with Dr. David Colbert who wrote the book The High School Reunion Diet. He said we can look 20 years younger in one month by eating more natural foods. To begin, he said to avoid high fructose corn syrup sugars (Which I already knew but have a hard time doing. I made brownies yesterday. Hello?). He compared our skin to the surface of crème brûlée. The burned chrystalization of the sugar is called glycosylation, and all those icky sugars can do something similar to our skin (I think I need to reacquaint myself with my pumice peel tonight). Also, we should eat whole wheat pasta rather than white pasta. Actually, I don’t eat pasta much anyway. More natural fats are not necessarily bad for us. He had a lot of good advice that I would be smart to heed.
Unfortunately, I am pretty bad at keeping New Year’s resolutions, so I usually don’t bother with them. This year, however, I’m trying again. I’d like to accomplish several things in 2010, one of which is to lose 25 pounds. I’m not heavy for my age and height but I’d like to be thinner. My brother is getting married in September so I’ve got nine months to do it. The best thing to do is to make my list of goals and post them where I can see them to remind myself. This site offers some ideas about how to achieve your goals.
How about you? Do you have a New Year’s resolution? What is it and how do you plan to reach it?

I resolve to chew ten pieces of gum at one time. I will achieve my goal by buying ten pieces of gum, unwrapping each one, and then inserting them into my mouth. I will then opene and close my jaw, being careful not to open my lips, until each piece of gum is homogenized in texture. The pieces may or may not stick to one another due to this mastication. Eventually, the pieces of gum will achieve unity with one another, becoming one large, gooey mass. I will then continue to chew this gooey mass of gum until my jaw becomes fatigued, or the gum loses its flavor, whichever comes first. I will then deposit the gum into an appropriate receptacle.

Wow! Good for you, Jill. Continue to eat healthy and exercise. You may want to slowly up your food intake to several small meals a day instead of just one.

Happy New Year!
wow. That was some awesome work by Jill. Inspiring.
Your goal is realistic and credible, too. I’m betting you will show up as the sister of the groom with the model body.
