Friday night our town kicked off the Christmas season with the lighting of the trees that line the street downtown. Most of the shops that lined the street were open to show off their hot products for Christmas. People milled up and down the street enjoying the evening. Wood burning fires in metal garbage cans were placed at street corners for warmth. The aroma of the burning wood added to an already picturesque, old-fashioned atmosphere. I took a few photos so you all can experience it as well:
Isn’t that just lovely? Here’s another one:
My husband and sons stayed home so Little Miss Throwsafit and I had a wonderful mother/daughter night of shopping.
I picked up a few things on sale and spotted a few other things I want to get as Christmas gifts. One store offers a nice selection of Vera Bradley bags. The Bead Box has some wonderful earring kits that I know would make great gifts. I better stop before I give away all my Christmas gift ideas!

Beautiful pictures, Kim! Makes me long for Michigan.
I’m up late watching the Dem. debacle of the newly passed Health care bill. UGH.
Kim, I just love your little town!! I may just pack up the car and head north:) You just don’t see quaint downtowns like that here in our part of Florida. It sounds like you and LMT had a fun girls shopping trip:) It’s great that you are supporting your local small businesses.
Beautiful photos – and it is great you support your local businesses.
