Happy Birthday, Little Man
Today is Little Man’s seventh birthday. I still can’t believe how old he is now. He’s in the first grade and is really enjoying himself. We celebrated tonight with our family, my parents and my father in law (my mother in law is in Florida taking care of her step mother who is dying). Here are some pictures of the fun and festivities:
I was playing around with Picnik so I put this picture in a Polaroid effect. But there are two things I want you to notice about this image. One, take a look at how serious Little Man is here. What’s with that face? Second, check out that amazing Ho Ho cake (and I love the candles, too) that my neighbor Kathleen made. I know you’re all wondering so I’ll just tell you now. It tasted even better than it looks.
I just could not accept Little Man only giving me serious faces on his birthday so I insisted that he smile for me.
Ah, much better. In case you’re wondering, I was playing with the Picnik effects again.
Although Littlest One’s birthday isn’t until Monday, we celebrated his second birthday tonight as well, which is why we have seven candles on one side of the cake and two more on the other side.
Gah! If that stupid Coke Zero can weren’t in the way you’d have a clear shot of that beautiful cake. Anyway, Steve held up Littlest One to introduce him to the concept of blowing out candles. He didn’t it so Steve had to blow out the candles for him. I love the expression on Little Miss Throwsafit’s face. Her birthday isn’t until June, so she was forced onto the sidelines to watch the boys open presents. She ended up commandeering one of Littlest One’s toys, a cute dog pull toy, and since Littlest One was engrossed in his Dirt Devil toy vacuum cleaner, he didn’t notice at all. Everyone was happy.
