Little Man was down for the count last weekend with a fever of about 102. I don’t think it was H1N1 since he didn’t have a severe cough. The only symptom that showed up was nasal congestion that has lingered, which made Little Man look droopy for days.
My husband and I kept him home from school last Friday as well as the following Monday and decided he was well enough to go back to school Tuesday. Unfortunately, it seemed we jumped the gun. He attended school Wednesday but by Thursday morning his temperature crept back up to 99.8. So again he stayed home.
I think that was all his body needed to give this cold the final heave-hoe. This morning he looked a bit more chipper and he didn’t sound as congested. I guess we’ll see how he feels when I pick him up from school later today.
Now, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Little Miss Throwsafit and Littlest One stay healthy. Next week I’m getting my daughter vaccinated for the H1N1 flu. Apparently, it can become very dangerous if it turns in pneumonia. Since my daughter’s hypotonia makes it for difficult for her to cough when she gets a chest cold, she can get lung infections easily. That makes the H1N1 a very scary prospect for her.
I hope your families are staying healthy.

I would actually guess that he had h1N1. Any fever of 102 or above is considered a flu-like illness. Colds rarely come with any fever–but if they do, it is below 101. Molly has not coughed at all with h1n1. She is very congested and it’s all sinus with her. One of the marks of h1n1 is the fever that comes back after you think it is gone–which makes me think that little man had it. According to Fox News, 1 in 5 US children has had flu-like symptoms in Oct. and it is now being surmised that it is h1n1. m
My husband cuts trees and yesterday he knocked on someone’s door about doing some work and they were yelling through the glass door “we all have swine flu! Come back next week” my hubby said the whole family was standing there and they looked awful.
Sorry your little guy got sick. It is so miserable. Hope that this weekend is better for y’all!
