This and that
Trout season began this past Saturday. Unfortunately it was a pretty rainy day but our fly shop did decent business. This weekend should be much better for us even though it will only be in the 50′s. At least it is supposed to be sunny. That could change, though.
While checking the weather for my area on Weather.com, I saw that Al Roker will be joining The Weather Channel. He will be doing a 6:00-7:00am show on weekdays. It doesn’t look like he will be leaving the Today Show but he’ll be doing The Weather Channel bit before the Today Show begins in the morning.
Last night at 7:00pm, my son’s elementary school had a Spring concert. The Kindergartners as well as the 1st graders sang Tambourine Kid and played the tambourine. This time he actually sang, unlike the Christmas performance where he stood there and looked around. I wasn’t able to record any of the performance because my camcorder wasn’t charged and I forgot my camera. Isn’t that how it goes. The third graders played the kazoos. Isn’t that funny. I love kazoos. The 4th graders played the recorder. You know I don’t remember learning the recorder when I was in grade school. I don’t know, maybe I did but I simply don’t remember it. Perhaps I was so bad that my mind is suppressing the memory. Anyway, last night’s performance was really cute.
It’s time for a new toaster. Ours has gone kaput and hardly toasts at all even at the darkest setting. I can’t complain, though. We had it since my bridal shower, 11 years ago. This weekend I’ll head to the Kitchen Collection outlet store and get a new one.

not that you care but I have a cuisinart (sp?) toaster that I love…it is 9 years and still works like a charm!
Trout season…My grand daddy would be all over that. Still think he lives near you somewhere…but he is 90 something now. Have you ever heard the name Bud Slingerlend? Just curious. He is BIG in the outdoorsy stuff.
Nice to see a new post from you!

aaaaa yes, steele head fishing. I remember hearing about the fights that would break out at foote pond with everyone crowded around the dam fishing. My husband and my dad were huge Walleye fishers on the river (trolling). I miss pike fishing on foote pond too, but it was starting to get a little dangerous with all of the jet skiiers and bigger motor boats flying around us.
As for remember the camera/camcorder, I am forever forgetting to bring it. Or I bring the camera only to have the batteries go dead right when my daughter get’s on stage
