Multiple births are pretty amazing on their own, but these two stories go above and beyond amazing.
First, a set of twin boys were born not only on different days, but on different months and years. How so? One was born at 11:51pm on December 31, 2008 and his twin brother was born at 12:17am on January 1, 2009. How interesting! From Fox News:
They’re twins, all right, despite what their spanking new birth certificates say.
Tariq Griffin is a New Year’s baby, having entered the world shortly after midnight at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester.
Twin brother Tarrance was born a bit earlier — 26 minutes to be exact.
Tarrance Kyle Griffin Jr. was born at 11:51 p.m. Wednesday, followed by Tariq Lamont Griffin at 12:17 a.m. Thursday.
That means the boys have the unique distinction of having been born on different days, months and years.
The boys’ father also is a twin.
That is totally cool. And take a look at this story about another set of twins, from CBS12 News:
A British couple defies the odds again, giving birth to a second set of black and white twin girls.
Seven years ago Alison Spooner and Dean Durrant welcomed daughters Lauren, who looks like mom and Hayleigh, who resembles dad. When the couple announced earlier this year that they were having another set of twins, they didn’t think lightening would strike twice.
“I was blown away as the rest of them, you know. There’s no easy way to explain it all. I feel like I’m still in shock myself, even thought the first ones were seven years ago. It’s amazing but we love them just the same,” said father, Dean Durrant.
I can’t imagine the odds. This couple should play the lottery.

As a mom of twins, I can tell you these are pretty neat stories! Especially the second one!!
I have always thought that having one twin born one day and one born on another day would be tough, not for the parents but for the kids. Then again, they each get their own separate birthday party! lol
Those parents at least get the benefit of one tax break!

You know, Trish, I hadn’t thought about any what you mentioned until you mentioned it. You can tell I don’t have twins. LOL! Having different birthdays would be important for twins, I’d think, since I know so many of them, identical especially, can have such a hard time sharing everything. Great comment. Thanks!

The couple with two sets of twins sure have their hands full! That’s an amazing occurrence just to have two sets, let alone such unique ones. And they’re really adorable girls as well. They should totally play the lottery…Lol!
I’ve always thought it would be cool to have twins born with such distinctive birthdays. I wonder if they’re identical….that would have to raise some eyebrows when asked about their birth date.
Thanks for sharing these fun posts!
