Pigpen

Categories: Family, Food and Drink, Parenting — Kim on Jan 27, 2009 @ 9:09 pm Comments (2)

You remember the character from Peanuts who had a cloud of dirt and grime that followed him around? We have our own little Pigpen. This is what he looked like after dinner:

He has spaghetti sauce in his hair and all over his right hand. Why just that hand? That was the hand he ate [...]

First haircut

Categories: Blog life, Family — Kim on Jan 25, 2009 @ 10:19 pm Comments (1)

A child’s first haircut is always a memorable event. Littlest Man was 9 months old when he had his first haircut. And I still have a lock of my daughter’s hair from her first haircut when she was 5 months old. Boy that girl had and still has a lot of hair. Today was Littlest [...]

A casualty of our Up North winter

Categories: Up North Happenings — Kim on Jan 24, 2009 @ 9:49 pm Comments (1)

Our bedroom ceiling was a casualty of our Up North winter. A couple days ago, Thursday actually, I woke up to the sound of dripping. I looked around and saw drops falling from a ceiling tile along the outside wall of my bedroom onto the bed side table. Argh!! I jumped out of bed and [...]

My diet and Vegas is calling, baby!

Ok, I feel as if my weight loss has stagnated. I would know that for sure, but I’m so afraid of getting on the scale for fear that it will give me a number that will discourage me. I know. I need to get on the scale. I will. Maybe Monday. Anyway, so I keep [...]

It’s good to have a place to call your own

Categories: Family, Works for Me Wednesday — Kim on Jan 23, 2009 @ 11:21 pm Comments (0)

When Little Man was about Littlest One’s age, which is 14 months old today, I cleared out a kitchen drawer for him to use as his own, so he had a little place to put some fun kitchen toys like plastic spoons and plastic containers that were just for him to play with and bang [...]

Put one foot in front of the other

Categories: Family, Parenting, special needs — Kim on Jan 22, 2009 @ 11:16 pm Comments (8)

For several months now Little Miss Throwsafit has been walking with a walker and getting more sure footed and more confident every day. She moves her walker around with greater ease all the time. Since it has swivel wheels,  she’s able to get around the house and other areas so much easier.
Well, I am thrilled [...]

Super Secret Spy

Categories: Blog life, Family — Kim on Jan 20, 2009 @ 8:36 pm Comments (1)

My kids love The Backyardigans. I confess I enjoy it, too. I love the singing and dancing, but my favorite part is how the show focuses on the kids’ imaginations. The backyard turns into whatever they imagine.
One of my 6 year old’s favorite episodes is Super Secret Spy. He loves how the characters find clues [...]
