Wordless Wednesday

Categories: Family, Wordless Wednesday — Kim on Nov 19, 2008 @ 9:35 am

Boy, it’s been such a long time since I participated in Wordless Wednesday, but it’s high time I jumped back into the fray.

This is one of the many, many memorials and monuments erected at Gettysburg to memorialize the men who died on July 1-3, 1863. This monument of Brig. Gen Gouverneur K. Warren stands on one of the boulders at Little Round Top, the site of one of the Union Army’s most important battles of those three days.

If you haven’t ever been to Gettysburg or you have but it’s been a long time, you’ll want to make this a family destination at some point.  We stopped there on our way back from Washington DC last week. It was amazing. We toured the battlefield from our own car by using one of the CD’s you can play in your car that we purchased at the Visitor Center’s gift shop. There are 15 stops that mark where the important events took place during those three days. Little Man, our six year old, was enthralled with it.
