An Up North Mommy Christmas Season

Categories: Family, Food and Drink — Kim on Nov 28, 2008 @ 9:22 am

It’s now the day after Thanksgiving so I just put up my new Christmas header. My fabulous designer, Natalie, designed it and it’s perfect, don’t you think?

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with their friends and family. My husband, kids, and I are here at my parents’ house for Thanksgiving, which was great. We had our wild turkey that a friend shot for us and a store bought turkey. The wild turkey was wonderful! It was so full of flavor but not too strong. It wasn’t gamy at all as some said it would be. This morning as my mom was going through her refrigerator to see how much turkey she had left, she found that all the wild turkey was gone. But there was still plenty of regular turkey left. I’m thrilled everyone loved it.

If you’re braving the crowds today, I wish you good luck. I hope you find all kinds of deals and steals for your family and friends for Christmas. Some stores opened at midnight and I’m sure there were shoppers there waiting and ready to go. Today my husband and I are heading up to Troy Michigan to enjoy The Somerset Collection. And get this: we’re going by ourselves. Steve reserved a room for us at the Troy Marriott. He ordered a glass of champagne for each of us for when we arrive and breakfast for tomorrow morning. ;)

Everyone have a great Day After Thanksgiving!

  2. What a fab header!

I refuse to shop on Black Friday after working for 5 years selling diamonds!! HORRIBLE to sell jewelry on Black Friday (or retail in general, really).

I had to work Friday, anyway :)

  3. Love, love, love the header! Natalie is super talented - and it totally fits with your blog! I hope you had a great turkey day - sounds like it was awesome! I’ve missed all my bloggy friends being offline for a few days! :(

    Hugs!
