Little Man came up to me a few minutes ago and asked me to put in a movie. He handed me A Christmas Story. It’s not even Halloween yet but his mind is already on Christmas!

This is my second sewing project using my Viking Scandinavia 300. Yesterday I drove to Midland and bought Cowboy and Cowgirl fabric. The outside and the lining are from the same family fabric. I bought a pattern at Stitches of You, a local fabric and quilt shop, and made it in one day.

One of the things I love most about living Up North is how breathtakingly beautiful it is during the Fall color change. The trees are God’s canvas and he paints them with brilliant and fiery reds, golds, and oranges.

We’ve had some visitors who have been stopping by the past few days. Little Man spotted this pileated woodpecker that stopped by. I was surprised at how big he was. I don’t remember seeing any pileated woodpeckers in Toledo where I grew up, but we see them regularly up here.
