Works for me: salt scrubs
Although summer’s almost over, there’s one thing I like to use throughout the entire year that keeps me connected to the feeling of summertime. I love to use a fresh, citrus salt scrub in the shower. There’s a great use for salt scrubs besides just as a scrub. It’s great for shaving legs.
Put the scrub on your legs and really rub it in to get rid of the dead skin cells. Then you rinse off the salt, leaving behind only the oils. Then grab your razor, in my case I use a Venus razor, and shave
your legs with the remaining oil. Oh my gosh, it gives you such soft, shimmery legs. And when it gets cold out and you find yourself in long pants, you can still feel connected to those warm, sunny days when you could romp around in shorts, a tee-shirt, and flip flops.

Ooooh, I’ve never tried salts before. I need to get some!
I just tried a Venus razor this weekend at my friend’s house since I forgot mine, and I really liked it. I might be hooked!
Now I just need to get some salts. Any good places to find them?

Oh I absolutely love salt scrubs and then shaving afterwards, it’s simply heaven! My favorite scrub is found here: https://www.arbonne.com/shop_online/showitem.asp?ProductId=7089&menuId=52&withLinks=1

Your blog looks so pretty! I like your tips. Venus razors are the very best, used them for years, I buy them in bulk at Costco.

I’ve never tried shaving after using the scrub–what a good idea. I also LOVE my Venus razor.

I’ve enjoyed making my own scrubs (salt or sugar) over the years… they work so well!
As an aside, I too used to live on the AuSable River… only ours was in the Adirondacks of Upstate NY. Thanks for sharing!

I love doing this, just randomly mixed my own this summer while hubby was away and I felt the need to pamper myself a bit and feel all pretty when he came home. It leaves skin soft, silky and glowing. It is great! (helps eliminate razor bubmps too)
