Life is a bowl of cherries
In our case, life is two big bowls of cherries.
We picked the cherries from our cherry tree today. I got he kids together, minus Littlest One who was taking a nap, and started picking cherries. Some of our employees got in the act as well.
There was only really one tree that grew a lot of cherries, so we got as many of those that we could. There were some beautiful cherries, too. Pat held Miss Throwsafit really high so she could pick a few. Dena, who is on the right hand side of the picture, is the grand daughter of the former owner. Little Man is watching LMT get hoisted up. See how he’s looking all goofy? He was completely jealous that Pat lifted LMT up to pick cherries and was jumping up and down begging him to pick him up, too.
We picked for an hour or so and got a really nice bounty. I’ll be able to make cherry pies, cherry
crisp, and preserves out of this bunch.

Mmmmmm–fresh cherries! I’d love to stand under your tree and eat them as fast as I could pick!

These cherries are tart, but they’re so good. I can’t wait to make my pie. But I still have to find a good recipe for preserves, which I’ve never made before, and cherry crisp.
